He made me wet my pants....

"7" years ago today, Noah did this to me. He decided to break up the baby shower at the park. Of course he wasn't born 7 years ago today....he waited till the wee hours of the morning to bless us with his presence. I'm so glad my mom got this picture that day. My dad was having a heart attack though. He was a nervous wreck. He didn't think it was appropriate to be taking pictures of me when we should have boiling water.

I'm really bad at this

Blogging is hard work! I'm going to try harder to be a better blogger. Now I've written it, so it must be true.

Conversation with Noah

This morning we had to be up and out of the house 20 minutes earlier than we are used too. I had parent teacher conference with Noah's teacher before school. The kids were excited about arriving early because I promised they could buy breakfast.

Every morning I put out Noah's clothes for him and he gets dressed usually without hesitation. Did I mention that Noah has about 6 pairs of pants and only 2 pairs are blue jeans. His other 5+ pairs of blue jeans are now strictly for play due to the holes in the knees. When I went to check on Noah before leaving he had put on a different pair of pants other than the pair I had left out for him. When I asked him why, he told me that his blue jeans matched his shirt better. So off we went.

During my conference with Noah's teacher Hannah & Noah came in to eat their breakfast. When I left I walked over to tell the kids goodbye. Here's my conversation with Noah.

me- Bye Noah...have a good day. Love you.
N- Bye Mom...Love you too.
me- Noah...why do you already have grass stains on your pants?
N- Because I took them out of my hamper.
me- that's gross Noah!
N- he...he....he!!!

On another note, his conference went well. He is reading beyond his level and love taking tests on the computer. We have been reading the Magic Tree House series and he loves them. I like them too.

Surgery Day...

Today my Dad is having a knee replacement. He's been having knee problems for many years, but just recently it became worse. Today, I will be sitting at the hospital with my Mom keeping her company while Dad receives his bionic knee. I will post more later.

Losers...

Well, yesterday was weigh in Monday at Weight Watchers. I met dad there during my lunch. He was waiting for me in his usual seat in the very back. Dad, don't you know that if you want and "A" you have to sit up front. We both had a great week. My dad has lost a total of 11.2 lbs, and I'm at 16.2 lbs total. It feels great to see those numbers drop consistently every week. We have family pictures scheduled in May down at the beach, so I've got something to work for...especially since I don't want my picture taken much these days. Thanks for all your support dad! I'm proud of us!

An Angel's Birthday

My niece Jillian had a birthday today. She's 15...WOW! I sure do miss you Jilli. I think of you everyday angel. Here are just a few of my favorite pictures of Jillian.

Happy Birthday Jillian Ray!

Hannah's poem

I was checking out Hannah's 5th grade class blog today and her teacher requested that the students post their poems about the rain (I guess because we've had so much lately). I don't know much about poems, unless it starts with roses are red...I was very proud of Hannah's poem and wanted to share it.

The Rain

The rain came down
from up above
the roof like a river
to the winter's sun.
While the cold winter
night turned to ice.
That night with a
drip drop on the roof
the waterful came down.
As you step outside
the pounding on your head
like a cold shower
outside as cold as ice.
The heater comes on
my frozen body is melting
faster than the sun
is coming out.

I'm a loser!

Every Monday at lunch I drive over to Weight Watchers, meet my Dad, weigh in and stay for the meeting. Today was my 4th weigh in and I lost 1.4 lbs. My grand total so far is a whopping 13.2lbs. YEAH ME!!!

It's official....

I am now a blogger. What better way to document the funny things that my kids say or do. For instance...tonight at dinner Hannah told me that one of the 5th grade teachers at her school was going on the upcoming field trip because she had her "botox" bone removed. "What?" She said, "you know mom, her butt bone." I then replied "that's called your buttocks." Her response, "Oh...whatever!" Not sure where that came from?

It's also a way for Mike to keep up with all that's going on in our household. He'll feel like he's right here with us.

I wanted to start this blog long ago but never got around to it. I really enjoy reading my friend Beckys blog way up in Bellingham, Washington. Thanks Becky!

This is Becky & me on my wedding day!

So, hopefully I will have the time and energy to remember the funny things that happen in my household and write them to share.
